  1. Detecting Ocean City for Spanish Colonial coinage. You hit the beach after a decent storm
north of North Street. With a decent, not a “cheapo” metal detector. You hit the low spots and inland where the beach erosion cliff is. It’s the only place on a South Jersey beach I know for sure
    Spanish coinage has been found.
Years and years ago an old timer told me of egg hunters who stumbled across gold Spanish coins while looking for eggs north of the northern inlet. He had lived in Wildwood all his life
and told me the tale as matter of factly.
