No Good Deed Goes Unpunished

I responded to a ring recovery last Sunday. A young gentleman had lost his Triton class ring. He showed me the area behind his yard that he thought that it was in. It was overgrown.

I started searching and found some junk metal. I looked for over 1.5 hours and didn’t find the ring. It is not there or the ring isn’t made of metal.

He offered me some cash for my troubles. Since it was a week before Christmas I declined and wished him a Merry Christmas. He was very appreciative.

Tuesday I wake up to terrible itching on my hands, CRAP it’s poison ivy!! How can this be, its winter and there should be no poison ivy around!! Well it has been very unseasonably warm in my neck of the woods. It has dropped below 32 degrees once.

The day after Christmas I ended up going to the local Urgent Care to get steroids to try to help combat this mess. It is now on my hands, face & neck. I was given 3 weeks of steroids and another steroid cream.

Lesson learned, wear gloves no matter what the temperature is!!!
